What stood out to me today was Paul saying, “I drive my body and train it,” and then Jesus saying, “When fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher.”

I have a desire to learn more about my faith, read more Scripture, understand the Church better, and hopefully bring others to Christ. But knowing myself, I also know I can turn even that into something I am trying to accomplish on my own. I can start thinking if I just work harder, study more, or know the right answer, I can somehow do this myself.

But the point of the training isn’t just to know more. It is to become more like the Teacher.

So today I pray for the discipline to keep training, but also the humility to remember that Jesus is the one doing the work in me. That I may just be like the moon, reflecting His rays. The light isn’t mine. It all comes from Him.
